Rotary Career : Dr. Pawan Gupta led the Rotary Club of Jalandhar in the year as President during 1988-89. A year in which due to outstanding community service projects both Dr. Pawan Gupta & Rotary Club Jalandhar was honored as the best president & best club of distt 3070. A single sapphire Paul Harris fellow Dr. Pawan Gupta has made his mark through out his tenure of association with Rotary while serving as District Secretary (2002-03 & 2010-11), District Assembly Chairman (1989), Chairman Polio Plus Seminar (1988-89), District Conference Secretary(1991), Member District Nominating Committee (1996-97), District Conference Chairman (1999), Chairman Rotary Foundation Seminar (2002-03), Regional Co-ordinator Rotary Magazine (2003-04), Assistant Governor (2005-06), Zonal Co-ordinator (2007-08), District Chairman Membership Development (2007-08), District Intercity Chairman (2008-09), District Advisor Health & Hunger (2009-10), District Secretary (2010-11), Chairman RI Convention Promotion (2010-11).Organised more than 12 Distric functions.Regular speaker at at many Distric functions.
In recognition of his meritorious services Rtn. Dr. Pawan Gupta was elevated to the post of District Governor nominee of District 3070 for the year 2013-14.
Academic Career: Born on 31st July, 1951, He had a brilliant & meritorious academic career throughout. After doing his MBBS in 1973, he did his MD in Internal Medicine fromGovt.MedicalCollege,Amritsar in the year 1977. From 1977 to 1988 he servedCivilHospital, Jalandhar as Medical Specialist. Ever since 1988 he is serving the society through his nursing home – Pawan Hospital & Maternity Home at Gujral Nagar, Jalandhar.
Professional & Social Career : Besides several Association and Forums relating to the medical profession, Dr. Pawan is associated with a number of social & educational institutions. To name a few he is a member of Senate, Baba Farid University & Health Sciences, he was President of Indian Medical Association of Jalandhar, President of Physicians Forum Jalandhar, Chairman, Association of Physicians of India (Jalandhar Chapter), now a member of Punjab Medical Council and Ethical Committee of PMC. He is a life member of Association of Physicians of India, Cardiology Society of India, International Society of Hypertension, Research Society for the Study of Diabetes and Indian Medical Association. He also had been a member of District Telephone Advisory Committee as well as of State Telephone Advisory Committee. He is member of Jalandhar District Cricket Association. He has the distinction of serving Jalandhar Gymkhana as Joint Secretary for 16 years and presently is serving as Vice President. He also remained President of Gujral Nagar Welfare Association. He is a member of Local Managing Committee, HMV College Jalandhar. Dr Pawan has arranged several Medical Camps in and around Jalandhar and has also addressed many medical meets and has been Chairman of different Scientific Sessions. He has also been frequently appearing on Television in programmes relating to his profession. He was a member of Jalandhar Taxpayers Committee.
Dr. Pawan Gupta is married to Dr. Sunita Gupta, a practicing Gynaecologist, former Senior Medical Officer, PCMS. The couple is blessed with two brilliant children. Daugher Dr. Shikha, MDS and married to Dr. Sumeet, MDS atChandigarh. His son Dr. Varun is MBBS and doing MD (Medicine) Dr. Pawan is fond of traveling, reading, music and fellowship. He is a keen cricketer and regularly plays squash.
