Multiple Paul Harris Fellow Rtn. Sanjiv Sethi, has the distinction of becoming the first second generation District Governor of RI Distt. 3070. His father PDG Rtn. J.K. Sethi led the present Rotary District when it extended fromSrinagar toBanaras. Sanjiv’s childhood was spent in Rotary rich environment because his frequent visits to Rotary meetings and projects in the company of his father left an indelible impression on the state of his mind. Thus, Rotary Culture is Sanjiv’s inherited capital.
Born inCalcuttain a well known industrial family, Sanjiv Sethi finished his schooling from famousDoonSchool, Dehradun followed by his graduation in Commerce. Right from the childhood, he has been a keen sportsman and has won many trophies and awards in athletics and squash. He is a keen cricketer and has played the Cooch-Bihar Cricket Tournament.
Opting for entrepreneurship, Sanjiv Sethi elbowed his way to success in a highly competitive world. He is dealing in import of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, mainly from Middle East, Europe and Africa for supply to customers inIndiaand other countries. He has always followed the Four Way Test in his business dealings and transparency is his success mantra.
Sanjiv Sethi joined Rotary Club,Ludhianain 1994 and has always walked an extra mile. He became Club President in 2001-2002, having worked as Jt. Secretary in 1996-97 and Secretary in 1997-98. He was adjudged the Best Secretary and Best President at the Distt. Level. At the District Level, he served on coveted positions- Group Study Exchange Coordinator, Asstt. Governor, Member of the Nomination Committee, Distt. Secretary, Chief Aide to Distt. Governor, Distt. Committees Chairman, Distt. Intercity Chairman and Distt. Coordinator Zonal meets. His role and contribution on all assignments were acclaimed by respective Distt. Governors and he was honoured as the “Rising Star” of RI Distt. 3070 during 2007-08, which title he justified by being elected as DG 2011-12.
Rtn. Sanjiv Sethi has an excellent international exposure visiting various countries like U.K., Middle East countries, Singapore, South Africa, China and USA. He is on the Board of Studies of Management Institutions, Member of the Red Cross Society, Member of Ludhiana Management Association and Patron of Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility, Member of Executive Committee of Punjabi Hindi Sansthan (Regd.) etc.
Married to Bhavna, Rtn. Sanjiv Sethi is blessed with three sons- Sidharth, Kabir and Harsh.
